Short guides for the things people ask most. If you don't see what you need, check the FAQ or contact us.
Getting started
- Create an account. Choose Professional if you want to be listed in the marketplace, or Client if you're hiring. You'll verify your email with a 6-digit code.
- Pick a handle. Your handle becomes you@zmail.foo and profile.zmail.foo/<handle>. Handles are final once chosen — pick carefully.
- Set your password. We check passwords against the Have I Been Pwned dataset; use a fresh one.
- Compose from the mail app at mail.zmail.foo.
- You can email inside zmail.foo freely. Verified professionals can also email external addresses (Gmail, Outlook, etc.).
- Attachments are stored privately and served through short-lived signed links.
- Read receipts show when the recipient opens the message.
- Delivered/opened outcomes for external mail are visible in your outbox history.
Marketplace
- Clients post service requests; verified professionals submit proposals.
- Both actions carry a small platform fee — see Refund Policy for what is and isn't refundable.
- Do not solicit off-platform payment purely to avoid the platform fee — see Marketplace Terms.
Verification
- Only Professional verified accounts appear in the public directory or can submit proposals.
- Verification steps and evidence are listed in the Verification Policy.
- You can check current status in Settings → Verification.
Payments
- Payments are handled by our partner PayU.
- Invoices, transaction history, and subscription status live in Settings → Billing.
- Refund rules: Refund Policy.
- Subscription details: Subscription Policy.
Account & privacy
- Deactivate hides your account temporarily; Delete is permanent after a 30-day grace period.
- You can export your personal data at any time from Settings → Data & privacy.
- Promotional email subscriptions are managed in Settings → Email preferences.
